Greetings from Alaska!

'To say “This campaign cycle will have consequences…” is an understatement. I am willing to go where needed to help fill campaign needs and get “our people” elected.

As much as I LOVE Alaska political life, I love to continue to hone my skill set and life experiences. I am looking to do it again this cycle because I relish learning new technologies, meeting new networks of people, organizations, and political cultures. Cross-training, or as I often refer to it, “Political Camping Out,” helps keep me focused and my skill set fresh.

I have electoral, community-based, legislative, and labor organizing experience that has translated into giving projects I have had the privilege to work with, that extra “oomph” factor that results in little wins— such as increasing voter registration or turnout for “lazy” voters for Democrats.

Then there are the “marquee” races that “Take out” an extremely conservative and entrenched Alaska Senate President in the 2018 election cycle. That state senate election broke the super majority of the GOP in our state senate. I was the general consultant, brought in by our senate leadership to guide and mentor a first-time campaign manager. Slept on an air mattress for three months. Totally worth it.

In the Spring of 2021, I managed a campaign for local school board. We defeated a GOP incumbent Anchorage school board member and replaced her with a progressive true-blue democrat. I was hired a mere six weeks before his late entry into the election, but I knew where to spend his money, his time, and where to deploy volunteers for specific tasks.

I thrive in deadline-driven environments with all kinds of assorted personalities, am resourceful where resources are scant, and can motivate others to push a project forward, “just a little bit more.” I love working in different environments and cultures and it never ceases to amaze me how our nation’s culture can be so diverse, and yet our common threads are so strong.

I am proud that I have worked campaigns in 17 states-- none of those deployments or clients were ever less than a month--some more than nine months. I hate hotels, more inclined to stay with friends of the campaign. Good way to catch up on “insider gossip” and network when one stays with a local.

These are challenging and exciting times for my beloved home state and my country—I want to bring my energy and my experience to your efforts AND bring back to Alaska new ideas, new ways of doing things, and new networks.

I would like to request an interview with the appropriate person for a position with your endeavor.

Sincerely,

Katherine Pfeiffer
